Can I purchase individual pieces from a set?
The beauty of HORIZON’s material is that our log sets are complete. The wood comes from the same log, is consecutively cut and is a perfect match in terms of color, character and grain. This is a woodworker’s dream for ease of matching and guaranteeing a uniform appearance. While breaking the integrity of a set is not something we are excited to do, we will pull certain pieces on a case by case basis. We charge a partial set fee to split a set. The fee varies depending on how the set is divided. Naturally the fee for taking a ½ set is lower than the fee for pulling out only the prime cuts. It never hurts to ask.
What about shipping?
Shipping is most often handled by a hand-picked less-than-load carrier (LTL). Cost of shipping varies based on weight, distance and required delivery services. For a rough guesstimate we have found that the cost of shipping usually falls close to the $1/bdft range. This varies, of course, but there are great economies of scale when shipping LTL. Piggy-back shipments with other local woodworkers has proven to be a great way to save some money on freight.
Occasionally we work with businesses that want to arrange their own shipping. We are at the ready to accommodate that scenario when it arises.

Why aren't prices shown online?
For the present, while we work through the nitty gritty of our new inventory system, we have chosen not to post prices. It keeps things simple for us. We have often had requests for online pricing and understand how helpful it would be for the customer. It is one of the features we plan to add over time to make our site even more user-friendly. Stay tuned!
